The Last of Grinoldy
The singular responsibility instituted by modernity is to never be surprised. Every action you take must be centered around eliminating uncertainty. You must write your every action, write the actions of those around you (by "write" I am insinuating that you must pre-plan every action of yourself and others, not that you necessarily have to record every past event). Beyond simply avoiding unexpected elements, one must also be knowledgeable on how to recover from uncertainty as quickly as possible. This is because those around you wish to capitalize on "surprised" individuals, engineering future unexpected scenarios to further their own machinations, profiting off of you materially or psychologically.
