Progress and Regress Analyzed Etymologically

Progress as a rule can be stopped, halted, abated, reversed, furthered, progressed, inclined, or increased. Notice how three of the verbs denote a temporary end, one verb denotes reversing, and four verbs denote abiding by progress. One of the positive (as in direction, not moral) verbs was "progressed" which is rooted in progress, showing a reciprocal strategy of progression, four positive verbs become eight become twenty four etc. The opposite of progression is regression, however when the verbs for regression are layed out, the reciprocating "regress" is negative, (once more, direction not moral) meaning that while progression is infinitely reciprocating, regression is infinitely extirpated.
